International Women's Day
Adelaide Luncheon 2012
The Luncheon will be held on International Women’s Day,
Thursday 8 March,
at the Adelaide Convention Centre,
North Terrace
from noon to 2.30pm.
In 2011, we celebrated the Centenary of International Women’s Day. This year, we begin a new Century of celebrating women’s achievements in South Australia. It is timely for us to reflect on the current state of gender equity in Australia and South Australia and our vision for the future.
The year 2025 will mark 50 years since the first International Women’s Year in 1975. This would provide an opportune time line for reflections and so the theme will be
Gender Equity in 2025
The format for the Luncheon program will be different: IWD Committee Patron, the Honourable Robyn Layton QC, will give a Keynote Address, followed by a broad ranging Panel Discussion including time for audience participation. There will be more time for talking together and sharing experiences and ideas.
